Setting up data for Modelling

Before you begin modelling, consolidate all data by creating the necessary sets:

  1. Resource Sets: by defining how many of each type of appliance is available and on what shift. The appliances that are available to respond to the demand (e.g. number of PRLs, Aerials etc.) This is done by creating a table of Resources.Related Topics Link IconRelated Topics
  2. Appliance Requests: The scope or the ‘demand’ to be met (e.g. all callouts in April 2006, callouts of PRLs in 2007 to FDRs.) This is done by creating a table of Appliance Requests. Related Topics Link IconRelated Topics
  3. Station Sets: These are the locations at which appliances are based. This is done by creating a table of Stations.
  4. Route Cost Databases: This is a database that holds all relevant routing information. It includes pre-calculated travel times from stations to incident locations. Related Topics Link IconRelated Topics
  5. The shifts to be used in modelling. Related Topics Link IconRelated Topics
  6. Batch Processing: allows you to set up multiple scenarios as a batch and set it running (for example overnight.) Related Topics Link IconRelated Topics
